Company Profile
Concorp is a multinational company registered in Sudan, Uganda, Tchad, Libya, UK. The owner, chairman and managing director is Mr. M.A.G. Abbas. Concorp is basically an oil company involved in the design and construction of oil refineries, oil field development, drilling, tank farms, pipelines, oil field services and facilities for distribution and marketing of petroleum products.
In 1991 the company ventured into the oil business and purchased three oil refineries of 2,000 BPD, 10,000 BPD and 25,000 BPD from USA. The 2,000 BPD refinery was the first privately owned refinery in Sudan to be operational in Abu-Jabra oil field, which was relinquished by Chevron to Sudan government.
Concorp's success in the refining business qualified it to negotiate and buy out Chevron Oil Company of Sudan in 1992. Eventually, Concorp Petroleum took over 42 million acres of concession rights with proven reserves of 1.3 billion barrels of oil.
In August of 1993, Concorp sold it's concession rights and assets in Sudan. In March 1996 Concorp started erecting its 10,000 BPD refinery in Khartoum, Sudan which became operational in March 1996. In addition to the refinery, Concorp has a distribution and marketing network for petroleum products.
In the year 2000 Concorp Tchad added a new dimension to the company's activities by undertaking an EPCM contract to develop Dedigi oil field and build a 341 km pipeline to transport crude oil to Concorp N'djamena refinery.
